Elizabeth Carter
BA(Hons)(Psych), AMAPS
Registered Psychologist
Proprietor and Course Presenter
Elizabeth’s professional interests are in Positive Psychology and Communication. She believes that at the root of many individual and social problems is poor or underdeveloped communication skills and that some people suffer because they are unable to speak up in a way which enables them to be heard.
In her own life, Elizabeth learned the power of building confidence through public speaking, and for 11 years has been developing this skill. Having the confidence to speak in front of a group of people can be life-changing, and most people are able to find this confidence with the right information and support. This confidence, can also permeate other life circumstances and situations. |
“Giving a good presentation is not rocket science. Most of us have the ability, but sometimes it is masked by an unrealistic anxiety about speaking in public. If we focus on the task and the solution to the task it becomes a natural process. At Bravo, we don’t actually ‘teach’ public speaking and communication skills, so much as show people where they need to practice and improve, and also help them to see what they could do differently.”
“ It takes the motivation to change, some practice and preparation. There is no magic bullet training course for public speaking. It takes time, commitment, and some self-monitoring. Anyone who expects to be able to give a great presentation after one short course will be sadly disappointed. That’s why, we at Bravo try to give our course participants the tools to improve.” |

With a philosophy of life-long learning, Elizabeth believes we should never stop trying to become more effective communicators. Elizabeth also believes that we all can build the skills to become great presenters and more effective communicators, at home, at work or in social situations.
