When we are born, we are full of confidence. As new-borns we know what we want and can be very demanding.
But, over our lifetime, our confidence can be whittled away by experiences that make us feel guilty or unworthy.
This then can lead to negative or faulty cognitions of ourselves such as diminished feelings of self-worth and negative self-perceptions.
These negative or faulty cognitions often have no basis in fact, but we live our lives as if they are true because that are our reality.
Once we learn to understand this we can challenge our thoughts and turn them around.
